The day this photo was taken, we had an outing with our residents to Freddy’s, where they love the old-fashioned style burgers and fries. I remember when we posed for this photo, I realized this didn’t really feel like work at all, but more like spending time with family I love.
Most people would think working in a memory care community, with residents who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or other kinds of dementia, would be depressing and sad. I wish everyone could come into a CountryHouse and see it’s not like that at all! Everyone here is focused on finding the joy in every day. We smile, we laugh. We jump in the bus and go grab some lunch together at Freddy’s. It’s a very special job and each day brings something new.
