More than $7,000 was raised for Agemark’s Heart to Hand program at a silent auction held at the company’s recent corporate meeting.
Agemark’s Heart to Hand Program offers employees facing challenging times the opportunity to apply for assistance through the company. Applications are reviewed by a committee of Agemark employees from across the country. Agemark keeps the recipients and their stories confidential, but in general, recipients of Heart to Hand assistance are typically facing challenges including medical needs due to an accident or illness, unexpected deaths of a spouse, damages to a home or dwelling in a fire or other natural disaster, leaving abusive relationships and more. The Heart to Hand committee is made up of Agemark corporate employees and community executive directors. This year’s committee includes: Sarah Martin (Coordinator) of The Kensington in Fort Madison, IA; Richard Westin, Agemark Co-Founder and Principal; Leticia Higares, Regional Director of Operations; Katrina Ondracek of Symphony Pointe in Elkhorn, NE; Julius Osario, Regional Director of Operations; Dijana Milankovic, HR Generalist of Agemark and Tricia Weberg, Accounting Supervisor of Agemark.
The yearly silent auction is typically the biggest fundraiser for the program. At this year’s silent auction state-themed snack baskets, wine subscriptions, lottery ticket and gift card bouquets, vacation packages and more were up for grabs.
Heart to Hand committee member Sarah Martin oversaw this year’s auction. Sarah says, “I’m thrilled that this year’s auction was a success. It was a fantastic event and so much fun. We couldn’t have done this without the generosity of our Agemark management team. This team either donated a basket or item, bid on one, or in a lot of cases – did both! We’re looking forward to more fundraisers to help fund this amazing program.”
